Five Minutes with Dr. Eng

We asked Dr. Eng a few questions about his experiences in imaging and being part of Golden Gate Radiology:

What is most rewarding about being a radiologist?  

Being able to play a central role in helping to figure out what is wrong with the most difficult patient cases in conjunction with other physicians.   Take appendicits for example.  Not too long ago, this would require exporatory surgery of which 30% of the time even in the best hands would be misdiagnosed.    With imaging we can be 98% sure before a surgeon ever touches the patient.

Why did you join Golden Gate Radiology?

Golden Gate Radiology believes in developoing partnerships with its referring physician and hospital partners to collaborate on optimizing the patient care experience and outcomes.   Moreover, the practice encourages its physicians to become active in the communties that it serves.

Where do you see the future of diagnostic and interventional imaging going and how will this benefit patients?

Health information technology and imaging are one the most exciting places to be in right now.    We are seeing so many advances in improving patient care now with modalities like CT and MRI.    The opportunites will only accelerate with the integration IT applications in a clinical setting to provide a more unified care encounter.
